The home place is situated along British Columbia's Chilcotin River which flows from the Itcha Mountains right through the property and on into the Fraser River. Pastureland lines the valley, which is partly covered by lodge pole pine and Douglas fir. Spruce, poplar trees and willow bushes line the rivers' edge. Water springs naturally from the surrounding hills.
